Very often, I am the only woman at work. Sometimes, this can lead to loneliness, even when working in a team. So, I have decided to list all the days when I am the only woman at work, with extra comments.
Now, I have put the data (do read the additional notes first) in a neat Excel sheet. I will add to it as time progresses.
Why do I do this?
I want data, if only from a very limited perspective of one person, to demonstrate how underrepresented women really are in the event industry. I hope that it can serve as a frame of reference for future years, and motivate more women to get started in this business. A workspace with a better gender balance would be a positive development since women can add different ways of working / perspectives to the workplace, and the likelihood of sexual harassment or power abuse (though it has never happened to me, thankfully) decreases further. If you want to do something similar in your line of work, go ahead!
